Duluth Police Department Celebrates New Recruits and Promotions
DULUTH, Minn.– The Duluth Police Department had lots to celebrate today during their ceremony.
Today, 11 new recruits took the oath with the Duluth police department.
In addition, they acknowledged two police officers who were promoted today.
Duluth’s Chief of Police told FOX 21 right now this line of work is a competitive market, and he’s grateful so many are willing to serve and protect this city.
“It’s really important for us to celebrate these people who have chosen to work for the city of Duluth, who want to serve and protect our community, with and for our community and so to welcome them in with open arms, with community members, family members, friends and their new partners, their new team at the police department, I really think it helps to onboard people well,” said Chief Mike Ceynowa, Chief of Police, Duluth Police Department.
Out of the eleven new recruits, three of them started their career back in spring last year.
And the remaining eight are brand new to the team.
