UMD Men’s Hoops Picked to Finish 1st in NSIC North, Women Slated for 3rd
Both UMD squads will tip off the regular season on November 14th.
DULUTH, Minn.- If it was up to the NSIC coaches then the UMD men’s team is going to have a good season.
On Thursday, the Bulldogs were picked to finish first in the NSIC North coaches poll.
UMD received 47 points, which was four points higher than Minnesota State-Moorhead, who came in 2nd in the poll.
Also announced were the players to watch list. Junior guard Caleb Siwek was UMD’s lone representative.
Just last year, he averaged almost 13 points per game for the Bulldogs.
UMD’s first regular season game is November 14th against East Central University.
As for the UMD women’s squad, they are slated to finish 3rd.
The Bulldogs received 37 points, falling just behind UMary and Minnesota State-Moorhead, who had 42 and 43 points.
UMD also had one representative in the players to watch list. That honor goes to Lexi Karge, who averaged 11 points per game last year.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 10-18 season in 2024 and 2025.
They tip off their new campaign on November 14th against Northwestern Oklahoma State.
