Friday Evening Northland Forecast: 10/17/2025
A Dry and Windy Weekend
Two weekends ago, we had high temps around 80. Last weekend, we had high temps in the upper 60s. This weekend, our highs will be in the 50s. Hmmm….changes are happening. We are well into Fall, now. The days are getting shorter (quickly), The high temps are getting cooler, and the lows at night are, too. Halloween is two weeks from tonight. And, local stores already have Christmas displays up. Here…We…Go!
We are between two cold fronts this weekend. One passed over us last night. Because of that, and the high pressure that followed, we had strong, warm SW winds all day today. Tomorrow, the next cold front moves on through. Behind that, our winds will be strong out of the NW, up to 25mph or so, for most of the weekend. After that, a decently strong low pressure system in the Rockies moves in on Monday, bringing a chance for rain (which we really need), on Monday and Tuesday. It won’t be a huge amount of precip, but we will take all we can get, as we are more than 8 inches down, for the year. And so far, at least this week, the moisture will come as rain…not that white stuff!
But, who knows. Two weeks from tonight is Halloween. Might it be cool enough for snow, by then? If our weekend temps keep dropping like they have the last two weeks, it will certainly be cool enough! So, rake leaves tomorrow, and watch football on Sunday. That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it!
