Taste of Hermantown Serves up Support for Students and Businesses
HERMANTOWN, Minn. — Community spirit and local eats were on full display at this year’s Taste of Hermantown.
Oct. 23 marked the 18th annual Taste of Hermantown at AAD Shriners. The event featured a variety of local restaurants serving food and included a silent auction. All proceeds from the evening go toward supporting the Hermantown Legacy Fund, which offers Hermantown students and businesses scholarship and grant opportunities each year. Organizers also announced this year’s recipients during the event.
“The Hermantown Legacy Fund has as its mission to generate revenue so that it can provide scholarships and community and grants for community activities. And it’s done that during its entire lifetime,” said Steve Overom, Hermantown Legacy Fund Board Member. “I would just request that anybody that’s interested in helping the city of Hermantown, students, community members, to look on the web page and find a way to contribute to the Hermantown Legacy Fund.”
Hermantown students and businesses can apply for scholarships and grants through the fund’s website, where community members can also donate to support future opportunities.
