Scarium at the Aquarium brings Halloween under the sea
DULUTH, Minn. — Instead of schools of fish taking center stage at the Great Lake Aquarium, it was a Halloween celebration filled with costumes and fun on the evening of Oct. 28.
Families gathered for the Scarium at the Aquarium event – A night of Halloween fun, spent exploring exhibits, while stopping at trick-or-treating booths, set up throughout the building. Along with costumes and small prizes, the event offered Halloween-themed crafts and activities. There was an underwater pumpkin carving contest to add to the entertainment.
“This is a really important event for our community, because it allows a lot of those different families to be able to interact with our animals here in a relatively fun environment, but doesn’t happen all the time, and they’re able to come here on a holiday or during the week to be able to come and check it out,” said Volunteer Coordinator Hailey Ronning.
The family-friendly fun is such a hit that this year’s event sold out every evening before the final night, Thursday, October 30th.
