Voyageur Donuts Opens in Canal Park
DULUTH, Minn.– A new donut shop is opening Friday in Duluth’s Canal Park.
Voyageur Donuts is located in the DeWitt-Seitz building.
The savory business focuses on unique and local flavors, like a ‘Superior’ chocolate donut and a ‘Forager’ blueberry donut.
Owner Dan Neff said he’s done his research.
“Voyager Donuts is about the experience where life takes us and what you can bring along for the ride. So where are these donuts going to travel? Are you going to bring them up to the boundary waters? Are you going to bring them on a paddle boarding trip on the lake. So where do they take you? What? What do you connect with when you eat one,” Neff said.
For co-owner Tracy Owens, she’s looking forward to making location connections through donuts.
“We really want to tap each market in Duluth, not just a tourism gets everybody in Duluth back to Canal Park. So, we’ll have savory donuts. We’re going to have unique twists on donuts, fresh ingredients. Try to do partnerships with farms in the future, any everything like that. Lot of community outreach,” Owens said.
One of the unique creations on the menu is the Hot Dish donut that features cream cheese, chives, bacon, as well as sour cream and onion potato chips.
Voyageur Donuts will be open Wednesday through Sunday beginning at 7 a.m. each day.
