Hermantown Elementary School Unveils new Playground

HERMANTOWN, Minn. — Hermantown Elementary School hosted a Grand Opening for its new playground.

The school began working on last fall after reports on the play area showed that years of wear and tear had made it unsafe. The fresh start is intended to ensure the playground remains a safe and enjoyable space for students. School officials say the playground was made possible with the support of the school PTO, students, and families.

“Our last playground had been here, you know, a long time, probably since the 80s, so it was getting rusted, and I think they’re just excited to get it up and get it going,” said Wayne Whitwam, superintendent for the Hermantown School District.

The playground completion arrived just in time for students to enjoy during this nice weather.
