DULUTH, Minn.– A new movie is currently in production in Duluth and it’s highlighting a supernatural horror plot.

The movie called: ” The Autopsy of Albert Kemper” is inspired by an old urban legend.

It’s based on the idea of feelings of fear and uncertainty with performing an autopsy.

Officials told FOX 21 the cast of this film features a lot of local talent from the Northland.

Production for this film is still very fresh, entering its third week.

And getting used to the area, has been exciting for everyone involved.

“It’s great to just come to somewhere new and have that new energy that you feel. And then we have this amazing view of the lake right behind us our facility, which is awesome, and it’s just so beautiful. It’s like a little San Francisco, but the people are friendlier,” said Dave Benullo, Director, “The Autopsy of Albert Kemper”.

The crew said they’re eager for this film, but also how it could impact the city.

“When a project comes in, they inject a lot of cash into the location that they’re shooting in a very short period of time. So not only does that cash come in the first time and be injected in things like our hotels and our restaurants and crew spending their money every single day in stores and in bars and restaurants,” said Shari Marshik, Executive Director, Upper Midwest Film Office.

“A lot of times you get movies that have 37 locations. And, I mean, well, that’s, that’s excessive, but, you know, like this, this one’s quite contained. So, we’re able to really, really focus on, on the places that really matter, the sets that really matter. Because we’re not trying to, like, spread ourselves too thin between too many locations,” added Harrison Chambers, Production Designer.

The film is slated to release sometime next year.
