City of Duluth hosts open house to address suggested code changes

DULUTH, Minn. — The City of Duluth held an open house at City Hall in order to debut some suggested changes to the city’s Unified Development Chapter.

The changes are meant to increase housing supply across all income levels around the city.

The open house was meant to introduce some themes and a potential timeline for the proposed code changes, and to provide those interested in the updates with an opportunity to discuss zoning changes with City Planning staff.

“Since this is not a big open rewrite of the zoning code, we understand our scope is pretty narrow, but we really would like people to know what we’re doing and to have a chance to come ask us questions,” said Jenn Moses, the city’s manager of planning and community development.

The next steps to take place surrounding the changes will be the writing of the new code, which will take place in November and December.
