1 dead, deputy injured in Cass County shooting

WALKER, Minn. — One person is dead and an officer is injured after a shooting in Walker.

According to officials, they received a report of a shooting near residences in the area of Old Agency Drive and Onigum Road NW, rural Walker.

Deputies attempted to make contact with a man who then fled on foot.

According to officials, there was an exchange of gunfire, which led to a Deputy being shot and transported via helicopter to a hospital for further treatment.

The man was killed during the gunfire.

There is no word yet on the status of the deputy.
