Man Arrested for Passing Counterfeit Bills
A 48-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly passing counterfeit bills at different businesses in Tower, Minnesota.
Over the last few days, authorities received several reports of counterfeit ten dollar bills. Police also obtained a photo of the suspect.
An employee of a store that fell victim to the crime recognized the suspect in another business on Tuesday and called 911.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department responded and located a vehicle leaving the scene, with the suspect in the passenger’s side.
The man was arrested after police compared him to photos from a previous incident.
Police executed a search warrant on the car. They recovered equipment that is believed to have been used in the manufacturing of the counterfeit bills.
The two serial numbers on the fake ten dollar bills are MB02301810B and JL023951123B.
If you have received one of these bills, you are asked to call police.
