Man Shot, Killed by Burnsville Police

Police in a Twin Cities suburb have fatally shot a man in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant.

Authorities were called around 6:15 Thursday morning to the McDonald’s near Highway 13 in Burnsville.

Police Chief Eric Gieseke says five officers responded to a report of a suspicious person.

Geiseke says when police arrived, they encountered a suspect who had a weapon.  There were no other details released about the shooting, but Chief Gieseke did say there were no additional public safety concerns.

Further information will come from the MN Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, who is investigating the shooting.

The officers were wearing body cams at the time of the shooting.
