1 dead after fall from communications tower in Lake Nebagamon

LAKE NEBAGAMON, Wis. — A man is dead after falling from a tower in Lake Nebagamon.

According to officials, they received a call at 10:30 a.m. on Monday that a man had fallen around 100 feet from a tower on Industrial Park Road.

Upon arrival life life-saving efforts were administered, but the man ended up dying from his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Gere Walden of South Carolina, who was in the area doing tower work for Cross Communications.

Officials say Walden was wearing a harness at the time of the fall.

The incident is under investigation.
