Wednesday Morning Northland Forecast: 12/3/2025
Feels Like January
We are still 18 days away from Astronomical Winter, which arrives on December 21st, this year. Our average high temp for today is 29 degrees. Our daytime high will be 10 degrees, along with strong, cold NW winds up to 25mph today. That is some very January cold, in early December. I have maintained that this will be a ‘real’ winter, compared to the last 2 years, when we had ‘wimpy’ winters. If it’s already this cold, and it’s still Autumn, it will certainly be a long winter!
We are in the rhythm of having small storms hit us, every couple days, out of western Canada. ‘Alberta Clippers.’ They move quickly, and don’t bring much snow. But, if you get one 3 times in a week, the snowfall starts to add up. We look to get more light snow Thursday night, into early Friday. And then again, next Monday and Tuesday. Maybe it will take our minds off of how cold it is, already.
We are looking to get down to -10 overnight, tonight. And we will also be below 0 degrees on Saturday and Sunday night. It looks like we will be in the low 20’s on Friday, and again next Tuesday. If we ever do get to the upper 20’s, it will feel downright balmy outside. Looking further ahead, I don’t see any large snowstorms in the next 7-10 days. Then again, that can change quickly. I will let you know!
