Mountain Lion spotted in Duluth, officials say to exercise caution

DULUTH, Minn. — A mountain lion has been spotted in Duluth.

The Duluth Police Department said they have been made aware of sightings of a mountain lion/cougar in the area.

Ordean East Middle School was placed into a temporary secured status on Wednesday due to the presence of the animal.

Officials say they are in contact with the DNR, which is also aware of the animal.

At this time, no action will be taken by the police.

Officials want to remind the community that you should exercise caution if you see a mountain lion and never approach it.
