UW-Superior students shows off jazz tunes ahead of concert
SUPERIOR, Wis.–Students at UW-Superior showed off some tunes ahead of their vocal jazz extravaganza.
At the Yellowjacket Union, a full big band graced the presence of passersbys.
They featured several of their songs that they will play at their concert tomorrow.
The UW-Superior jazz director told FOX 21, not only does it give them the chance to practice, but it also serves as a history lesson.
“It’s almost a little bit of a club atmosphere, which is a little bit of jazz history. But we it’s also a prep for our concert for tomorrow night. So, we’re this is a way to play our music again. It’s like a run through in a very casual setting,” said Randy Lee, Jazz Studies Director, UW-Superior.
The concert will take place on December 4th at the Manion Theater starting at 7:30 PM, and it will feature the school’s big band, and numerous vocal singers and UWS alumni.
Admission for adults is $5, and students can attend for free
