Local Police team up with the Salvation Army “Stuff the Squad” Toy Drive
CLOQUET, Minn. — Holiday cheer filled the aisles of Walmart and L&M in Cloquet as police officers partnered with local kids for the ninth annual “Stuff the Squad” and “Shop with a Cop” Salvation Army Toy Drive.
The Cloquet Police Department and Fond du Lac Police Department kicked off the night by taking local kids on a holiday shopping trip, using gift cards donated by Bernick’s. Afterward, both departments invited the community to help stuff the squad cars with new, unopened toys, games, sporting equipment, and gift cards for the Cloquet Area Salvation Army.
“I can tell you that there have been a lot of smiles,” said Ron Timmons, detective for the Cloquet Police Department. “The kids have definitely been enjoying themselves with it. And so is law enforcement. We’ve really liked being here with the kids and being able to share this time with them and make sure that they have a good holiday.”
For those who were not able to attend, donations can also be dropped off at the Cloquet Police Department.
