After serving the Twin Ports for over 50 years the popular Greek restaurant is shutting down for good.

SUPERIOR, Wis. — Popular Greek restaurant The Original Louis’ Cafe in Superior is shutting down permanently.

After serving the Twin Ports for over 50 years, the local favorite is closing its doors on Friday, December 5.

“It’s been an incredible journey, and we’re so grateful for every moment we’ve shared with our amazing customers and community. The memories we’ve created together will always hold a special place in our hearts,” said The Original Louis’ Cafe in a post on their Facebook page.

The restaurant was started by Elias Ioannis Letsos, “Grandpa Louie” himself. A Greek immigrant who began a new life in the United States in 1919, with the goal of helping his customers experience “always the best” of American and Greek cuisine.
