Actor with Twin Ports roots starring in bilingual children’s musical
DULUTH, Minn. — A former Twin Ports actor is taking his talent to the stage in the Twin Cities, for a show based on a classic children’s book.
“Go, Dog Go!”, also known as “Ve Perro ¡Ve!”, is the latest production from the Children’s Theatre Company in Minneapolis, and is a musical adapted from the book of the same name by P.D Eastman.
The show, which is a bilingual production, still keeps its storytelling roots by being an easy watch for the company’s youngest audiences.
“What makes this kind of early-reader production really special and palatable for younger audiences is that there is no heavy topic, right? It’s not a hard watch, it’s not hard to understand, and the plot is very lighthearted and whimsical,” said Eric Samuel Romero, who plays “Hattie” in the production after having previous acting experience in the Northland with the Duluth Playhouse.
The show debuts on Jan. 20, and runs until Feb 22, with tickets available on the Children’s Theatre Company’s website.
