2 dead in multi-car accident in Thomson Township

THOMSON, Minn. — A 2-car accident in Thomson Township, southwest of Duluth, has tragically claimed the lives of two people on the morning of Dec. 26.

According to a press release from the Carlton County Sheriff’s office, emergency response arrived at the scene of the 2-car crash near Esko just after 9:00 a.m.

The occupants of a Chevy Impala, Anthony and Tammy Drake of Oronoco, MN, died at the scene of the crash. They were both 57 years old.

The occupants of the other car, a 32-year-old male from Thomson and a 1-year-old, were taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet to receive treatment.
