Esko Native & Minnesota Safety Koi Perich to Enter Transfer Portal

After two seasons at the University of Minnesota, Esko native and Gophers safety Koi Perich is entering the transfer portal.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn.- After two seasons at the University of Minnesota, Esko native and Gophers safety Koi Perich is entering the transfer portal.

Perich broke out as a freshman as he recorded 46 tackles and 5 interceptions on the defensive side of the ball.

That also came with a number of accolades following his debut season.

Then in his sophomore year, he took a little step back, tallying 39 solo tackles, 1 forced fumble, and one interception.

When Perich was coming out of high school, he drew plenty of interest. Teams that had interest included Ohio State, USC, Iowa, and Wisconsin, among others.
