UMD’s Comeback Falls Short in Overtime Loss to Harvard in Ireland
UMD will next play Quinnipiac on Saturday.
BELFAST, Northern Ireland.- The UMD women’s hockey team stormed back from a two-goal deficit on Friday against Harvard.
Playing in their first international game in Northern Ireland, UMD’s Thea Johansson first scored at the 8:38 mark in the 3rd to make it a one-goal affair.
Then a little over five minutes later, Grace Sadura netted the equalizer, sending to the game to overtime.
In the extra period though, Carla McSweeney fended off two Bulldog defenders to flip in the game-winner.
Harvard advances to the title game with the 3-2 win.
UMD will next play Quinnipiac on Saturday.
