Four UMD Bulldogs Named to Sweden’s Women’s Olympic Hockey Team

The Winter Olympics will begin on February 6th. 

DULUTH, Minn.- In college hockey, two current and two former Bulldogs will skate for Sweden in the upcoming Winter Olympics.

Junior defenseman Ida Karlsson and senior forward Thea Johansson, along with former goaltenders Emma Soderberg and Tindra Holm all made the roster.

This year’s games will be Karlsson, Johansson, and Holm’s first time playing for Team Sweden.

As for Soderberg, she had her Olympic debut back in 2022.

The four Bulldogs tie a program record of UMD players on a single Sweden Olympic Team.

The Winter Olympics will begin on February 6th.
