#8 UMD Women’s Hockey to Continue Homestand with Bout vs. SCSU
UMD has won their last seven matchups against SCSU.
DULUTH, Minn.- Like the men’s team, the Bulldog women’s hockey team will also be taking on the Huskies of St. Cloud State this weekend.
Except in this series, UMD will have the home ice.
The Bulldogs reign over the Huskies in the last 13 years has been very impressive. UMD boasts a 44-6-9 record over SCSU during that time, which includes a current seven-game winning streak.
Head Coach Laura Schuler detailed part of the team’s gameplan Wednesday morning at her weekly press conference.
“They’re a super structured team. They’re really good on their forecheck. They really get above us. For us, it’s going to be important for us to be able to break out quickly against it so that we don’t allow them to get set up. But ultimately, we need to be playing our game and uphold the standards that are going to help us be successful,” said Schuler.
UMD is sitting pretty comfortably in a nine point lead for the 4th seed in the WCHA. Meanwhile, St. Cloud State is fighting to get back into the conversation as they’re 7th in the division.
SCSU and UMD get things going at 6:02 PM on Friday.
