Submissions open to name soon-to-be Duluth Public Schools education center
DULUTH, Minn.–A new development in downtown Duluth is currently in the works, and it is looking to breathe new life into the Duluth Public School system.
The soon-to-be education building, located at 424 west 1st street, is expected to open in fall of 2026.
It will house education programs such as an enrollment center, an area learning center, community education, and more.
There is currently a submission form open, where community members are free to cast their ideas.
An official with Duluth Public Schools said, it’s part of their policy to include public input.
“We’re hoping that by opening it up to our citizens, which our policy kind of states is, that we’re getting input from our community, and that our community feels some sense of pride in our district, as well as within this building,” said Adelle Wellens, Communications Officer with Duluth Public Schools.
The submission form for the new name has been open all month.
Wellens told FOX 21 that there have been 30 submissions so far, and it will close Friday January 16th at midnight.
