Northern Star: Kloey Lind

In her junior campaign, Lind averages 12.7 points per game for the Saints.

DULUTH, Minn.- The CSS women’s basketball team is off to their best start since the 1987 season.

A key piece to the Saints success is thanks to junior forward, Kloey Lind.

“I truly believe she’s the hardest post to guard in the league. She’s got some guard skill to her. She can run the floor, lead the break. She’s a monster on the glass when she wants to be a monster on the glass,” said Saints head coach Jason Schmitz. “Kloey Lind is a special, special athlete that the day she said yes to come to St. Scholastica was a great day for St. Scholastica.”

In her junior campaign, Lind averages 12.7 points per game for the Saints.

She also leads the team in rebounds with 99.

But what makes Lind a threat each and every week.  Is her ability to shift her game on the fly.

“I mean, I feel like I have a pretty good idea of trying to read the other team and stuff like that. With the help of different game plans and scouting that really helps make it easier for me,” said Lind.

“So now we’re in the gym a couple of days a week just working on refining stuff. Seeing how people are going to guard her differently, how do we add to her game. Her desire and her drive to refine her craft is really why she continues to progress,” said Schmitz.

Just like any sport, there will be ups and downs during the Saints season.

But Lind is a leader for the Saints that will always bring a positive outlook no matter what the situation is.

“I always try to have a kind of optimistic point of view because I mean, we all got to realize that nobody is perfect, there is going to be good days, there is going to be bad,” said Lind.

“She’s somebody that we know is just going to carry a lot of pep every single day. People look to her to continue be that person and other coaches have commented how they just see that she is somebody that they rally around,” said Schmitz.
