#9 UMD Women’s Hockey Going Back to Basics Ahead of MSU-Mankato Series

UMD previously swept MSU-Mankato back in a series in October.

DULUTH, Minn.- The UMD women’s hockey team is still in search of their first regulation win of 2026.

Another good chance to bounce back will come this weekend as the Bulldogs will travel to take on Minnesota State-Mankato.

UMD has won their last four meetings against the Mavericks and hasn’t dropped a contest to them since 2022.

Head Coach Laura Schuler says leading up to the series her team is taking a basic approach.

“I think just simplify things. We’re a team that definitely prides ourself on our structure. We’re just going to try and simplify things so that we’re not thinking as much and play our game based more off of principle play. So, little things like that I think is going to go a long way and we’ve had a great week of practice,” said Schuler.

UMD previously swept MSU-Mankato back in a series in October. They also outscored the Mavericks 8 to 1 in those games.

Game one is set for Friday at 6:02 PM in Mankato.
