Water emergency temporarily closes Proctor schools
PROCTOR, Minn. — A broken water main has temporarily closed Proctor highschool and Middle School.
According to school officials, overnight, a water main broke in Duluth that feeds water to Proctor.
When attempting to fix the break, the City of Duluth turned off the feed to the water tower.
As a result of morning water usage, the water tower was drained.
Officials say the City of Proctor asked the district to close the high school and middle school to avoid a water boil emergency and to give them time to refill the tower.
The Aspirus Event Center and Early Childhood Centers are also closed
The schools are expected to re-opoen Thursday.
