ISMA hosts 136th Grand Lodge Convention

DULUTH, Minn. — A gathering was held for the 136th annual Grand Lodge Convention hosted by the International Ship Masters’ Association.

Founded in 18-86, the organization represents licensed Great Lakes mariners. Its mission focuses on education, safety, and environmental stewardship from the Great Lakes to the St. Lawrence Seaway. That mission will be reflected throughout this weekend-long convention. The event will include key speakers from industry leaders to Congressman Tom Tiffany, along with live music, auctions, and food.

“This is great to be here and be in Duluth and see these ship captains and pilots and maritime affiliates, some of us only get to visit once a year, and it’s just a great event,” said Captain Chris Edyvean, event coordinator for ISMA.
