Bicyclists ride in unity for Alex Pretti
DULUTH, Minn. — Cyclists across the Twin Ports gathered for a unity ride to honor Alex Pretti.
The ride was inspired by Angry Catfish Bicycle, a community bike shop in Minneapolis. They first called on cyclists to organize memorial rides after Alex Pretti was fatally shot by ICE. The local effort has grown into more than 250 rides in 14 countries, uniting cyclists around the world in remembrance and solidarity.
“I think we’re all a little anxious and ready just kind of move our bodies and go out and celebrate the life and be with one another and make connections,” said Dustin Voorhees, a
lead ambassador for continental ski and bike. “I feel like a lot of people really need this right now. We need to come together and be one.”
The ride ended at Harmony’s Irish Pub where the Twin Ports Rapid Response team was holding a food drive.
