Northstar Ford Arena in Hermantown hosting free premiere of “Hockey Mom’s Revenge”

HERMANTOWN, Minn.– A special premiere at the Northstar Ford Arena is coming up, to highlight a locally produced film.

This Saturday, all are welcome to pack the new “NorthStar Ford Arena” in Hermantown for the first public showing of the movie.

‘Hockey Mom’s Revenge’ was shot in the longtime original hockey arena next door.

It’s a story about a former Olympic hopeful hockey player who becomes obsessed with her son Alex’s success. Fueled by jealousy, she manipulates, sabotages, and endangers others to ensure Alex comes out on top.

Producer Mandy June Turpin said, the showing is all about the community.

“It’s always exciting when you can do a premiere at a place that kind of represents what the movie is all about. It’s, it’s a really fun, elevated movie about parents and sports, and you know what kids and parents go through,” said Turpin.

Turpin, who’s produced and directed other movies in the Northland like “Merry Kiss Cam”, said she enjoys giving local talent the opportunity to be work on her productions.

“It’s great to see a lot of the people that wanted to be in the industry and kind of felt like maybe they’d never be able to do it because they weren’t able to be in LA or Atlanta or New York,” added Turpin.

The premiere screening for ‘hockey mom’s revenge’ is Saturday at 7 p.m. At “North star ford arena” in Hermantown, and doors open at 6.

“Hockey Mom’s Revenge’ will also stream on Lifetime and Amazon Prime Video.
