Vacationland Peer Support nonprofit holding spaghetti feed fundraiser
POPLAR, Wis.– A non-profit dedicated to helping out first responders recover mentally from traumatic experiences is hosting a spaghetti feed, to expand their efforts, across Douglas County.
Vacationland Peer Support got its start, two years ago when the founder, Randy Martin, found comfort in helping others, after his time as a fire chief.
Since then, he has dedicated himself, to building the non-profit, providing confidential phone calls, and a shoulder to lean on….
With their first fundraiser coming up, Martin said, it’s important to get people the help they need, as soon as possible.
“If they don’t feel like telling anybody in their department that they’re having trouble because they’re embarrassed or they don’t know what to do, they don’t have to. They can grab the phone number, and they can seek the help themselves, and no one has to know if they don’t want that’s the way it works, confidentiality,” said Martin.
The spaghetti feed will be at the mission covenant church in poplar, from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday February 7th.
