Zam Plante’s Two-Goal Night Gives #10 UMD First Home Win Over #3 North Dakota Since 2020

Plante scored with seven seconds left in overtime to give UMD the win.

DULUTH, Minn.- The #10 UMD men’s hockey team returned to the win column on Friday night, defeating #3 North Dakota 3 to 2 in overtime

Hunter Anderson and Zam Plante each found the back of the net in the 2nd period for UMD. But then the Fighting Hawks responded with two unanswered goals, including a score in the 3rd with just 1:31 to go.

The two teams went to overtime and that’s where Zam Plante struck again. He netted his 2nd goal of the night and the game-winner with just seven seconds left.

Friday’s win is the Bulldogs first home victory over the Fighting Hawks since the 2019-2020 season.

UMD will look to break out the brooms on Saturday. Puck drop is at 6:07 PM.
