Dimitrov & Hanson Stand Out at MSHSL Alpine Championships

The state ski meet continues on Wednesday with nordic ski racing.

BIWABIK, Minn.- It was Day 1 of the MSHSL Alpine Championships on Tuesday.

On the boys side, two standouts from Cook County cracked the top 20.

At number 19 was Hans Mehlhaff, who finished with a combined time of 1:15.21.

12 spots ahead of him at number seven was his teammate, Goshi Dimitrov, he had a combined time of 1:12.74.

Dimitrov was the highest placed finisher for locals.

Over on the girls side, two more locals finished in the top 11.

They are Annabel Hanson of Stella Maris, who had a time of 1:16.63. That was good enough for 4th in girls and 29th overall.

Then in 11th for girls and 50th overall was Duluth East’s Jordin Flohaug. She finishes at 1:19.06.

As for teams, Cook County boys placed 5th and the Duluth East girls placed 7th.
