Northern Star: Ty Nyberg
Nyberg is on pace for 1,900 career points.
DULUTH, Minn.- In his four years at Duluth East, senior guard Ty Nyberg hasn’t been one to miss out on the fun.
“He’s played through games where he’s had the flu. He’s played through games where he’s been injured. When it’s gameday, he’s going to want to compete,” said head coach Rhett McDonald.
All done in order to accomplish a goal as a team.
“I think it’s just how much work we put in at practice. I feel like me being out there just helps everybody and I want to be out there with my guys and working together just like we are everyday in practice,” said Nyberg.
But when it comes to him individually.
“He has a big skill set. He can shoot the ball like crazy. His vision is great, one of the best in the state that I would say with distributing the basketball and vision wise,” added McDonald.
While also seeing some of the biggest things involved in a basketball game.
“I always want the challenge. I want the ball at the end of the game. I feel like I would always want that moment. I feel like I can do that too,” added Nyberg.
But the job is still not done for the guard.
“We’re towards the tail end here. He’s been a part of a section semifinal team in the past as well. So he’s been a part of success in our basketball program. I’m hoping he can kind of propel us through some hard stretches here with some good level talent that we’re going to be playing in our section,” said McDonald.
Nyberg and Duluth East are next in action on Thursday against Duluth Denfeld.
