Mirage Knock Off North Shore to Secure 6th Straight Section 7A Title

Avery Milbridge led the way for the Mirage with two goals.

PROCTOR, Minn.- The Proctor/Hermantown Mirage will once again be heading to St. Paul to play in the state tournament.

On Wednesday, the Mirage bested the Storm of North Shore, 5 to 1 to claim the Section 7A title.

It’s the 6th straight year that Proctor/Hermantown has claimed the trophy.

Avery Milbridge led the way for the Mirage with two goals.

“Just ecstatic, obviously you work all year for a moment like this, and just really proud of the girls and we’re able to get it done today,” said Mirage head coach Emma Stauber. “Things are going to happen in a game, mistakes are going to be made. So, our girls have to be ready and know that they have to respond, the game is not over and keep that momentum and good energy on the bench.”

“Our team is just super resilient, that’s what we base everything off of, resiliencies and hard work. Our saying is hard work works. So, I think that’s what we did this game,” said Mirage forward Grace Nichols.

Proctor/Hermantown will learn who their first-round opponent is at state in the coming days.
