VIRGINIA, Minn. – Bartholamy Jake Drift, 42, of Virginia, has been sentenced to 32 years in prison for his role in the murder of another Virginia man in 2014.

Drift was convicted of second-degree murder in relation to killing 28-year-old Harley Joseph Jacka. Jacka was killed after his girlfriend requested it be done, according to court sources.

The sentence was handed down by Judge James Florey in State District Court in Virginia, Monday.

Drift was the last of four suspects to be sentenced in the case. The three others earlier pleaded guilty and were sentenced for their roles in the murder.

Janessa Lynn Peters, 22, the victim’s girlfriend, received a prison sentence of nearly 29 years. She earlier testified that she told Drift that she wanted him to kill Jacka, saying she no longer wanted a relationship with him.

Anthony James Isham, 45, of Nett Lake, received a 363-month sentence last month for his role in the crime. His cousin, John Edward Isham, 40, earlier pleaded guilty to aiding an offender and obstructing an investigation, for which he received a 78-month prison sentence.
