Body of man found near trail in Koochiching County

The Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office located the body of a missing man Monday afternoon.

Authorities believe the body is that of Mark A. Rood.

His body was found about 60 feet from a trail near Highway 11 and Tilson Bay.

Authorities said the recent warm temperatures and rain help in the search efforts.

The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating to determine a cause of death.
