Mandela Barnes talks tariffs during Reject the Washington Way tour

SUPERIOR, Wis.– Ahead of President Trump’s state of the union address tonight, a candidate for Wisconsin governor, and former Lieutenant Governor, Mandela Barnes is touring the state addressing Trump and Tom tiffany’s “Washington Way” agenda.

Barnes is focusing on President Trump’s tariffs that he said is raising prices on healthcare, childcare, housing and groceries.

The conference was joined by Superior Mayor Jim Paine, alongside small business owners and Wisconsin residents.

Barnes said this is a statewide issue, and he is hoping for a future filled with improvement.

“We’re all feeling overwhelmed with out-of-control costs and the chaos and division that Donald Trump and Tom Tiffany have created. We have families who are choosing between groceries and rent. Our farmers getting crushed by tariffs, as well as our small business owners, who continue to see their costs spiral,” said Lt. Gov. Mandela Barnes.

Barnes hopes for a future of fully funded schools across the state, because he said every child deserves quality education, regardless of zip code.
