Benson’s OT Goal Lifts Superior Girls Hockey Past Hayward in Sectional Semifinals

The Spartans will next face Northland Pines in the sectional final on Saturday in Hayward.

SUPERIOR, Wis.- The Superior girls hockey team earned redemption on Tuesday night.

After falling to Hayward in the season opener back in November, the Spartans returned the favor with a 3-2 win over the Hurricanes in the D1 sectional semifinals.

Addy Benson scored the game-winning goal in overtime for Superior.

The Spartans will next face Northland Pines in the sectional final on Saturday in Hayward. Puck drop is at 1 PM.
