Food Farm hosts 10th annual Great Rutabaga Giveaway

DULUTH, Minn. — Food Farm hosted its 10th annual Great Rutabaga Giveaway at Whole Foods Co-op-Denfeld.

The event celebrated local farming in the Northland, highlighting how fresh produce can be grown and stored nearly year-round, even during Minnesota winters. Community members stopped by to grab a free rutabaga, pick up recipe cards, and take home carrot seeds as they prepare for spring planting.

“Using the creative relationship between a farmer and the land is a way to support and grow, literally, our community,” said Annie Dugan, Co-Owner of Food Farm.

The local farmer encourages people to sign up for Food Farm’s community supported agriculture program, which provides fresh, locally grown vegetables throughout much of the year.
