Hibbing/Chisholm Boys Hockey Reflects on Capturing Second Straight 7A Championship

The Bluejackets will learn who their first Class A state tournament opponent will be on Saturday.

DULUTH, Minn.- It’s no surprise that the section 7A championship game came down to the wire on Wednesday night.

The top-seeded Hibbing/Chisholm Bluejackets faced off against the Cloquet/Esko/Carlton Lumberjacks for the second straight year.

Just like in 2025 it would take overtime to decide who will punch their ticket to state.

In the second period, the Lumberjacks cashed in on a power play as Jordan Sewell hammered home his second attempt to tie the game up to force overtime.

Then in the extra period, it’s a different hero this time but the same team that is victorious.

Isaiah Hildenbrand finds the back of the net to send Hibbing/Chisholm back to the state tournament.

“There was ten seconds, the puck was in the corner, and it came to him all alone, and we want it on his stick in that situation, he’s got great poise and made a great move,” said Bluejackets head coach Aaron Jamnick.

“There was nerves but the puck went into the corner, my two line mates Tate and Cole all year they’re on that puck. I sit right in front of the net, Cole’s amazing vision, he finds me. I’m all alone there and make one move and its in,” said Bluejackets forward Isaiah Hildenbrand. “This is what everybody dreams of as little kids, squirt growing up, scoring that OT winner. It’s an unbelievable feeling.”
