Minnesota March Foodshare Campaign matching Salvation Army donations
DULUTH, Minn.– Minnesota’s food-share campaign is coming up in March.
And the Duluth Salvation Army is doing its part to get donations to help feed people in need.
During the month of March to April 6th, the Salvation Army will be proportionally matched through the Minnesota Foodshare March Campaign.
At this time, they are highlighting their medical food shelf.
It helps people who need temporary diets following surgeries, illnesses, as well as food restrictions.
The Community Engagement Director said that without the medical food shelf program, most of their clients would not get their needs met.
“People tend to forget about us the rest of the year, to be perfectly honest. And we are constantly operating pretty much at the same level, if not at higher levels, depending on what’s happening, and just because you don’t hear it doesn’t mean that we’re not helping,” said Cyndi Lewis, Community Engagement Director, Salvation Army.
Lewis said, donations of any kind is always accepted, including monetary.
