Community tries their luck at the YMCA “Chuck-A-Puck” event
HERMANTOWN, Minn.– Community members tried their luck by chucking some pucks at The YMCA at Essentia Wellness Center.
Chuck-A-Puck is the largest fundraiser of the year at the YMCA in Hermantown.
The goal of the event is to raise $13-14,000.
The money brought it from Chuck-A-Puck helps fund local scholarships.
It also helps provide financial assistance for day camps, swimming lessons, and food access kits.
The Executive Director said, they are prepared with prizes worth over $17,000.
“There’s a ton of stuff to choose from, or hopefully win if you can get your puck closest? There’s not there’s some skill in it, but really, it’s luck of the draw, like, where’s your puck going to bounce? How’s it going to roll? Is it going to hit another puck? So, it’s fun to see the pucks accumulate throughout the day and see who wins and gets closest to the target,” said Emily Ranta, executive director at the YMCA at Essentia Wellness Center.
The event will continue until 8 pm tonight.
Pucks can be purchased at the Hermantown YMCA, as well as online.
