Duluth Marshall, Rock Ridge, & MIB Girls Basketball All Claim Respective Section Titles
The Hilltoppers have had the longest wait as they last made state in 2021.
SUPERIOR, Wis.- The Northland will be well represented at the state girls basketball tournament next week in Minneapolis.
Three different local teams punched their ticket to the tourney on Thursday night.
In 7AA, Duluth Marshall snapped a five-year drought by taking down Pequot Lakes, 66 to 57.
As for 7AAA, it’s a three-peat for Rock Ridge as they overcame Cloquet and a venue change to Hermantown, 77 to 41.
The power went out at Duluth Denfeld forcing the 2nd half to be played in Hermantown.
Lastly in 7A, Mountain Iron-Buhl left no doubt against Ely to clinch their 15th section title as a co-op, 87 to 43.
The state tournament brackets will be released over the weekend.
