Many Factors to Blame for Duluth Power Outage

Squirrel a Contributing Factor to Power Outage

DULUTH, Minn.-Power has been restored to all Minnesota Power customers as of 10 a.m.

The first outages, reported at about 5 p.m. last night, caused 4,000 customers to lose power in many East Duluth neighborhoods.

Minnesota Power contributed the outage to a squirrel coming into contact with the wires, ice buildup, and equipment failure.
