Lake County Gunman Taken into Custody

The Lake County Sheriff's Office says the Armed Man was Taken into Custody Shortly After 1:00a.m.

LAKE COUNTY – The search for an armed man near Finland is now over.

Authorities tell FOX 21, the man was taken into custody for assault shortly after 1:00a.m. after an hours long search.

Authorities from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol were all involved in a search Sunday for a man they believed to be armed and dangerous.

Assisting agencies include U.S. Border Patrol, Duluth Police Department, Silver Bay Police Department and the Minnesota DNR Conservation Officers.
