Northland Man Facing Multiple Felonies After 13-Hour Manhunt

FINLAND, Minn.-A Silver Bay man is facing five different charges, including three felonies, after a 13-hour manhunt in Finland Sunday.
Mark Wherley is facing two felony counts of assault in the second degree, and one felony charge of making threats of violence. He’s also been charged with two misdemeanors – carrying a weapon without
a permit and fleeing on foot.
The defendant allegedly came out of a neighbor’s garage, threatened them with a gun, and then fire some shots into the woods. After taking off in his ATV, police finally found Wherley many hours later.
Authorities found 49 guns in his home after searching it.
He is due back in court March 6.
