Duluth Airmen Bowling Fundraiser
Bowlers Lace Up For Good Cause
DULUTH, Minn. – Hundreds of bowlers came out to support higher education today.
Money raised at the event directly supports a scholarship which provides financial assistance to the children of the 148th Fighter Wing.
Even with serious bowlers in a tournament format. The atmosphere for this event is still fun.
“We make it as fun as possible. There are a lot of serious bowlers here but we bring the fun out of everyone, so it’s a good atmosphere.” Says f-16 Pilot Chris Freeman.
Each year bowlers that attend get to bowl with professional bowler Ryan “Rhino” Hayes.
And if they beat him they win $100…
Ryan says it’s a tournament that he looks forward to each year.
“Being able to come here every year is something that I really look forward too. It’s a great community her. Chris has become a near and dear friend of mine. I’ve always wanted to be a fighter pilot so I kind of live through him and he’s wanted to be a pro bowler so he kind of lives through me.” PBA Bowler, Rhino Page
The tournament includes free dinner provided by Texas Roadhouse and a silent auction with donations from over 50 area businesses.
