MN State Patrol releases Dash Cam Video of Train Striking Semi
The Minnesota State Patrol has released dash-cam video that shows the terrifying moment a train slammed into a semi-truck in Virginia last month.
The driver of the semi ignored the flashing red lights and stop arms and drove onto the tracks on January 20.
The incident happened just moments after the semi pulled away from an inspection by State Patrol Sergeant Jeff Shay.
The train dragged the semi a quarter of a mile down the track before coming to a stop.
The 67-year-old truck driver from Iron, Minnesota, walked away with just a laceration near his eye.
He was cited for failing to stop at a railroad crossing.
The crash remains under investigation by the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office .
